About Us

Our Kahani i.e. Story

 

 Kahani Records is an independent music label and production house founded by husband-and-wife duo Banjii and Mayuri.
Their music is available on all major streaming platforms. 

 Banjii, also known as Jason Kenney, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Appalachia, USA.
He has released four acclaimed albums, including projects with the Kenney Blackmon String Band and Homegrown Revival. 

 Mayuri Joshi, co-owner, is a singer-songwriter and Indian classical dancer from Pune, India.

Their first project, "Uncommon Love Story by Banjii & Mayuri," unfolds across seven chapters of music and film, earning awards for its celebration of love beyond borders. 


Kahani Records offers music production where craftsmanship and soul meet.

Episode 1: Copper Lines

In Banjii & Mayuri's debut song, hope is a hidden spring—elusive yet ever-present. The music video is also their wedding video and it showcases the stunning vistas of Sedona, Arizona. 

Episode 2: Ancient Lover

 Born 47 days but worlds apart, one from the US and the other from India, Banjii & Mayuri's paths converged 33 years later. "Ancient Lover" tells their real-life interracial, intercultural love story, set against the beautiful backdrop of California. 

EPISODE 3: GASlighted

Join Edwin and Willow on an adventure through the rolling hills of Georgia as they help find a new home for Lorenzo the llama, with a little help from their parents, Banjii and Mayuri. 

EPISODE 4: Toy Llama by Willow & Banjii

 Amidst the surge in teenage mental health concerns, an important question emerges. Willow, the introspective 14-year-old son of Banjii & Mayuri, ponders, "What would put a stop to all the drama?" 

EPISODE 5: ONE WAY TICKET

 Episode 5 features Indian performer and choreographer Maitreyee Joshi, Mayuri’s younger sister.
The music video fuses American folk rock with the vibrant spirit of Bollywood, carrying a powerful message:
"Love is the law," a truth that rises beyond wealth, status, or circumstance. 

EPISODE 6: "HOMECOMING" - Banjii & Mayuri LIVE

Banjii & Mayuri featuring John Keane on Pedal Steel, Rob Henson on upright bass, and Andrew Hanmer on drums live in Dahlonega, Ga.

Episode 7: Kingdom Rise

Kingdom Rise features Mayuri's sister, Maitreyee Joshi, and explores themes of redemption and salvation. A new kingdom rises.
